Monsignor Robert Nolan Robert M. Nolan was born on August 20, 1874, in Junction City, Kansas. His parents were Irish immigrants, and he was the youngest of eight children. He was drawn to the cloth at an early age. The story goes that he would tear a hole in a sheet of newspaper, poke his head through the hole, and wear the sheet as vestments of the Church. Founded by the Sisters of St. Mary of Namur Mother Emilie German-born Mother Emilie Kemen was the founder of the congregation of the Sisters of St. Mary of Namur in Belgium in 1819, in the wake of the French Revolution, when religious communities were forbidden throughout France. Founded by John B. Laneri John B. Laneri (1858-1935) Giovanni “John” Battista Laneri was born in Genoa, Italy, in 1858. At the age of 15, he immigrated to the United States with his younger brother, George, arriving at the port of New Orleans in 1873. He later moved to Marshall, Texas, where he worked in banking and at a local hotel.
