Nolan Catholic High School is proud to celebrate the extraordinary achievements of Cmdr. Chris Meek, Class of 2002, who has been appointed Executive Officer (XO) of the U.S. Navy’s elite Blue Angels for the 2026–2027 show seasons.

Cmdr. Meek’s appointment marks a new chapter in a distinguished career of service and leadership. A native of Watauga and North Richland Hills, Chris walked the halls of Nolan Catholic as a student whose potential was clear early on. He was the Chaminade Award winner of the Class of 2002, Nolan Catholic’s highest honor, recognizing a graduating senior who exemplifies a commitment to faith, integrity, and servant leadership.

His journey from Nolan Catholic to the United States Naval Academy, and now to one of the most prestigious flight demonstration teams in the world, began with a simple suggestion from his grandfather. After attending the Naval Academy’s Summer Seminar, Chris knew he had found his calling. He graduated from the Academy in 2007 with a degree in systems engineering and went on to become a decorated Naval Flight Officer, serving in multiple deployments and leadership positions.

As the newly named XO of the Blue Angels, Cmdr. Meek will help lead a squadron known around the world for their discipline, precision, and excellence—values he credits in part to the foundation he received at Nolan Catholic.

We are incredibly proud of Cmdr. Meek and pray for his continued safety and success as he represents not only our country but also the enduring legacy of what it means to be a Nolan Catholic Viking.
