The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Hartnett Arena with a required welcome session.  After this, students and their families can attend a variety of events as spelled out below.  Please see the final page for a calendar overview of events.

Families must attend these two sessions before picking up their parking passes and accessing their lockers (these sessions will be available at 6:50pm, 7:15 p.m., and 7:40 p.m.):

  • Uniform and Student Affairs Updates (Hartnett Arena): In this session, students and their parents will receive information on our Uniform policy and updates on our behavior management policies.  Families will receive a copy of the Handbook Acknowledgement form, which must be signed and returned by the first day of classes on Tuesday, August 15.

  • Academic Engagement (Auditorium): In this session, students and their parents will meet with the Academic Administration and Guidance Counselors to discuss Academic policies and expectations, and hear about available programs for the school year.

The following optional sessions will be available:

  1. Freshmen Parent Orientation (Library- 6:50 p.m.): This session is open to freshmen and new-to-Nolan families and will provide a general overview of the logistics of Nolan Catholic.  It will also provide an opportunity for parents and students to ask questions to a panel of parents and students.

  2. House System/Student Life Updates (Library- 7:15 p.m.; Auditorium- 8:05 p.m.): You can attend one of these sessions to learn more about our new House System and how it will be organized.  You can also hear about Student Life updates, including retreats and other programs.

  3. FAQ Session with the Admin Team (Auditorium- 8:25 p.m.): The Admin team will be available for a Q and A session at the end of the evening in the Auditorium.

During free time, families can attend the following events:

  • Activities Fair (Commons- starting at 7:15 p.m.): Come visit the Commons to get information about both our co-curricular programs and extracurricular activities.  Representatives from our Athletics teams, clubs, and organizations will be available to answer any questions and share information.

  • Spirit Store (Library- starting at 7:40 p.m.): The Spirit Store will be open in the Library for students and their families to purchase Nolan spiritwear.

  • Locker Access (Academic Halls- starting at 7:40 p.m.): After completing the required sessions, students can access their lockers in the Academic halls.  Bring your locks from last year, books, and decorations and beat the first day of school rush!  Locks will be provided for new Nolan students and can be picked up in the gym.  Returning students who need a lock can pick one up in the gym; their FACTS account will be charged $10.00.

  • Parking Passes Purchase/Pick-Up (Gym- starting at 7:40pm): Students will be able to pick up parking stickers for their vehicles. For those who still need to purchase a pass, follow this link.  Look for a follow-up email when it’s time to choose your spot!

  • Join us for fun and treats (IDEA Building - starting at 7:40 p.m.): Enjoy ice cream and popsicles with fellow Viking families.  Yard games and enter to win prizes!
