Nolan Catholic softball team is STATE BOUND!

 After a 25-4-1 record and a playoff victory last Saturday, our Nolan Catholic Softball team is STATE BOUND!  The team is headed to Crosby, TX to take on Katy Saint John XXIII Prep at 4:00 p.m.

Powder Puff Finals and Spring Football Game
Saturday, May 19

Ten teams divided into two divisions have entered the Powder Puff Football Tournament.  Games begin at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 15 and continue on Thursday, May 17.

The top two teams from each division will square off for a Final Four on Saturday.

The Final Four game will be at 2:00 p.m. and the Championship game will be at 2:30 p.m. on the football field, Saturday May 19th.

Following the Championship game, the football team will kickoff their annual Blue v. White Spring game at 4:00 p.m.  

Immediately after the scrimmage, NaNa Osofo-Mensah will verbally commit in front of our team and fans to play for either the University of Notre Dame or the University of Texas.  

The day will conclude  with the Nolan Catholic High School Alumni 7 on 7 passing game, where our football alumni can throw, catch, and defend on the turf of Doskocil Stadium once more.

There will be drinks and snacks available in the bottom concessions throughout the day for any family/friends.

2018 Nolan Catholic Viking Lift-A-Thon
May 21-23

The Lift-A-Thon is a major fundraiser for the football program.  The money raised will go towards the following:

  • Overnight football and spiritual retreat for the team in August
  • Safety equipment
  • Locker room updates

Each participant will attempt a maximum lift in bench press, power clean, squat, and deadlift.  Sponsors can donate in two ways

  • A flat donation of your choice
  • Per pound

Volunteer Opportunites - Colonial Golf Tournament
May 23 - 27

As in years past, we are in need of volunteers to work two concession stands over the course of the tournament.  Available shifts are 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. or 1:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  

Volunteers receive a single day entry badge and are invited to watch the tournament before or after their shifts.  

All volunteers receive an NCHS golf shirt to be worn while volunteering.  Parking passes are provided (limited number, so carpooling is encouraged).

Volunteer packages (badges, parking passes and shirts) will be available for pick up at the school the week of the event.

Parking Permit Lottery for 2018-19 School Year
Tuesday, May 29

The NCHS Parking Permit Lottery will take place in the Arena on Tuesday, May 29th after exams according to the schedule below.

Students will need to bring their $50 payment and a Parking Permit Registration Form to the Arena. The form is available in the main office.

***ALL STUDENTS planning to park on the Nolan Campus during the school year must have their vehicle registered with the Main Office and have a current NCHS parking sticker. Parking permits are also available for purchase throughout the school year.

Rising Seniors - 12:15 p.m.

Rising Juniors - After Seniors

All other students - After Juniors

 **Parking permits are always available for purchase during the summer in the main office during regular office hours and at the final registration event held in August.**


Project Graduation '19 Used Uniform Sale
Thursday, June 14

Project Graduation '19 will host a Used Uniform Sale to raise funds on Thursday, June 14 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the Library.  

Please deposit gently worn and clean uniforms in one of the boxes located at the Bridge Street Door, Circle Door or Commons Door.

French National Honor Society Induction

Eight students will be inducted into the French National Honor Society on Wednesday, May 2.  The ceremony will take place in B22 at 2:30 p.m.


Last Day for Schedule Changes
Friday, May 4

Friday, May 4 will be the last day to make changes to your 2018-2019 course schedule. Any changes made after this date will incur a $75 fee.

Mayfest Special Needs Day

On Friday, May 4, a group of students will be assisting at Mayfest for their Special Needs Day.  Students will help with activities and crafts throughout the day.

These are key fundraising events for the Viking Club - which supports ALL NCHS organizations.  Students looking for service hours are also welcome to volunteer (must be with a parent).

Senior Homerooms will view, HAZE- A Feature Documentary, Wednesday, April 18.  The documentary addresses the dangers of alcohol, binge drinking, peer pressure and hazing.


Bishop Olson to Preside Over Mass

As Bishop Olson finishes his tour of schools within the diocese, he will preside over Mass this Thursday, April 19 with the Nolan community.

Suicide Awareness Week

Monday - Awareness Wristbands will be distributed to all students.
Tuesday - Yellow shirts will be passed out to students to wear over their uniforms to symbolize the proportion of people who have contemplated committing suicide.

Mexican Inn and East Fort Worth Business Association - Give Back Event
Tuesday, April 10

Tuesday, April 10, the East Fort Worth Business Association is partnering with Mexican Inn (E. Lancaster location ONLY) for their bi-annual give back event.  20% of the night's sales are given back in the form of a scholarship fund benefiting students from East And Southeast Fort Worth schools, including Nolan Catholic High School.  Additionally, at the end of the year, East Fort Worth Business Association adds additional funds.  This past year, 5 college bound seniors received $500 scholarships to help with incidental college needs.  Please come out to support this event from 5:00 p.m. to close.


Tolton: From Slave to Priest

MARDI GRAS GOAL MET! OUT OF UNIFORM DAY!

BLUE OUT FOR AUTISM AWARENESS WEEK

Friday, April 6
Students may wear Blue Out and Jeans for $5.00.  Wristbands will be sold in the Commons before school. Proceeds will benefit The Learning Center of North Texas/LINKed.

Nolan Catholic Invitational Track Meet

Friday, April 6
NCHS will host an area track meet this Friday, April 6.  Forty teams will compete resulting in heavier than normal traffic on campus.  The Commons will be open at 6:00 a.m.  Please consider early drop-off.
