Choir Achieves Excellence at TPSMEA Contest

Last Friday, the Viking Choirs competed in the TPSMEA Vocal Concert & Sight-Reading Contest. Each choir performed the three pieces they've been preparing all semester, and then competed in a sight-reading competition with new music.

Both the men's choir (Vox Forte) and the women's choir (Bella Voce) earned Excellent ratings for their concerts and their sight-readings. Our mixed choir (Nolan Camerata) earned an Excellent rating for their concert and a Superior rating for their sight-reading.

Twelve of our students participated in the state round of the TPSMEA Solo & Ensemble Contest.

The following students earned Excellent ratings on their solos: Stephanie Anyanwu, Kate Chiappetta, Max Corato, Sofia Dahm, and Neil Tucker.

The following students earned Superior ratings on their solos: Sam Ater, Hunter Ferguson, Emily Morris, John Nguyen, Leo Rodriguez, Christina Stehling, Lavang Vu.

If you'd like to hear their performance, please come to our Spring Choir Concert on Friday, May 3 at 7 pm at Texas Wesleyan University.

Thank you for supporting our music program!
